All signs say that summer is here—the sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and footwear has changed to flip flops. Woo-hoo! Of course, the arrival of summer also means that the Salesforce Summer ‘20 Release is basically here. Our consultants have been busy combing through all the enhancements to everybody’s favorite CRM, and we wanted to highlight some of the hottest new features in the Summer ’20 Release.

Here are a few of the things we’re most excited about.

Split View for Standard Navigation

Are you someone who works through multiple records in a list? If so, we have good news for you. Salesforce will now allow you to see a list view and a record view side by side, simultaneously. And when you want to move on to a new record, all you need to do is select it from the split view and the new record will open with the list still in view. (So say goodbye to navigating back and forth between your list and your record.) Split View is also great for going through records in sequence so that you can skim through a set of records in a flash.

View Records Using Full View

For those Salesforce users who prefer to keep things old school, not to worry—full view is perfect for folks who like the classic view of Salesforce and want to keep it that way. Full view displays all details and related lists on the same page without having to switch between tabs. (The other default option to view record pages is the current view, now called “grouped view.”)

Einstein Search Enhancements

Einstein Search was a gamechanger for Salesforce search (especially for those of us who are used to googling everything), and the Summer ‘20 Release brings us several new enhancements to make our searches even more efficient. Let’s take related accounts as an example. Have you ever been looking for a contact or opportunity but can’t remember which account it belongs to? Say goodbye to that pain point—now, when you’re searching, you’ll see related accounts in instant results and recent items, and what’s more, those related accounts are also searchable! #EinsteinSearch #ForTheWin

Einstein Reply Recommendation

Over the last few years, Salesforce has been focused on adding new artificial intelligence (AI) into Service Cloud to make the agent console more intelligent which, in turn, takes some of the load from service agents’ shoulders. Now, service reps can address customers faster and take advantage of even more personalized information thanks to Einstein Reply Recommendation. Here’s how it works—Einstein analyzes chat data to create targeted replies and lists out a series of recommendations from which service reps can select the best option, making it easier than ever to deliver personalized service.

In-App Guidance Prompts

In-App Guidance allows Salesforce admins to build prompts using clicks (as opposed to code) to onboard and train users, introduce features, and more. Folks can create 500 prompts per org, not including those installed from packages, and to ensure you’re getting the best bang for your buck, you can monitor your prompt metrics after setup and testing, allowing you to make real-time adjustments as needed.

Lightning Experience Available on iPad

With many employees working from home for the foreseeable future, it’s important for Salesforce to be accessible across as wide an array of devices as possible, and with the new Summer ‘20 Release, the full desktop version of Lightning Experience can now be experienced on iPads using Safari.

When Can You Access Features in Salesforce Summer Release?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Salesforce has moved the Summer ’20 Release dates to the following:

  • First release window: June 12
  • Second release window: July 10
  • Third release window: July 17-18

There is a silver lining to the delay, however—the extra wait gives you more time to review and get ready for what’s coming!
