One of Surety’s top-tier JD Edwards consultants, who has been involved in our consulting space for a while and completed multiple long-term projects for our clients, has a passion project outside of his JDE expertise: raising awareness for suicide prevention.
This holiday season, Team Surety has paired up with him to share some holiday spirit, support the suicide prevention effort, and thank our dedicated consultants for all their hard work this year.
The Story
When the unthinkable happened, Michael Davis made it his mission to raise awareness, spread joy, and prevent suicide through baking. Michael tragically lost his nephew to suicide in 2011, leaving their family heartbroken and wondering how something like that could happen in their life. Michael decided to channel his grief into something that could build a community for families who have suffered the same pain and prevent others from having the same experience.
This is where ‘Made with Love and Hope’ was built, selling homemade baked goods to raise money for suicide prevention organizations and sharing his family’s story with others. MLH LLC not only represents the company name, Made with Love and Hope, but also signifies Michael’s nephew’s name, Matthew Lane Hobby. The company has now grown from a home-based business to a commercial kitchen, sharing its story with people close to home and those a little farther away.
Thirteen years later, Made with Love and Hope’s mission remains the same – spreading awareness for suicide prevention and raising money for mental health organizations that support the continuous fight to prevent suicide.
Our Support
At the end of every year, Surety Systems makes donations to various charitable organizations worldwide, typically chosen by both our internal employees and clients.
In an effort to contribute to suicide prevention organizations, support one of our long-time consultants, and thank our extended consultant network for their work over the past year, we have decided to purchase baked goods from Made with Love and Hope and gift them to our dedicated consultants this holiday season.
