Business Challenges:
Global SAP Implementation with ECC6.0, SAP BI7.0 and SAP BPC. This project is a New BI Global Implementation and also a consolidation of 3 different R/3 systems in France, Germany and North America into a single SAP ECC System. Successful implementation of Global SAP BI (France, Germany, North America) to satisfy the global reporting needs for all SAP Modules and also converting the existing WEB based application like eTime, CC Web and OPTS into BI for Reporting which are critical for day to day business.
High Level Business Solution:
Provided overall project management of SAP BI Implementation which included planning, scoping, design, data modeling, testing and delivery. Oversaw the SAP BI Implementation and support for North America. Implemented SAP BI as global data warehouse and as a single source of information for all reporting globally. 100% custom development to convert existing external application into BI. Maintained consistent, flexible and robust BI Architecture with flexible data model to support phase wise development. Implemented open architecture to support external databases.
Business/Technical Solution Details:
• Gathered the reporting requirements during the blue print phase of the project to determine the scope of the project by interacting with the stake holders and business process owners.
• Worked closely with the SAP business analyst and power users to finalize the functional specification for converting the existing critical applications like eTime, CC Web, OPTS into BI and other reporting requirements from different SAP Modules.
• Defined the architecture design and data model for custom application to be developed in BI
• Conducted collaboration session with the users and analyst to finalize the design for all the reporting requirements.
• Defined the development and transport strategy for developing BI objects in Dev system and moving the changes to QA system and finally moving it to Production system.
• Configured all the back end and front end manual configuration in both ECC and BI system related to system performance, load performance and query performance.
• Coordinated with the development team for finalizing the technical specification and monitored all the deliverables and time line of the development as mentioned in the project plan.
• Developed the testing strategy and conducted integration testing and acceptance testing with the SAP analyst and business users to make sure the requirements are satisfied.
• Worked closely with the security team to finalize the global reporting roles and authorization for different sets of user communities.
• Trained all the power users and SAP analyst on how to execute the BI reports via portal and educate them about the functionality of BI Reporting.
• Designed the data flow sequence for loading transaction and master data from ECC and external application with all the inter dependencies into account.
• Prepared the pre go-live check list for system configuration, development objects, data loading and reports.
